☝️ Feeling overwhelmed? Here's 1 Simple Step to Boost Efficiency as an In-House Lawyer
1 min. read
When you're an in-house lawyer, the fastest way to feeling overwhelmed (and worse, burning out) is by doing the same boring, manual, repetitive work that's way below your expertise. Over and over 😫
So what's the solution? Last month, we talked about outsourcing to an ALSP. There is one other simple hack though:
Automation.
Automate these tedious jobs to save time and boost efficiency.
💡 Let me share my tips:
Utilise your current tech stack: for things like intake, workload management and tracking your team's performance. Tools like Jira and Zendesk can help you start automating today. They also have AI plugins now too for fast, AI-powered solutions.
Plan for long-term automation: During quiet periods, identify processes that need automation and strategise for the future. Contract lifecycle management is a great example. Short term, you can use MS Word AI plugins to power contract reviews and build playbooks, but eventually you'll need a separate end-to-end platform to automate all your contracting processes, from creation to backend repository.
Get technical help: Work with your IT team to set up simple automations. This will lighten your load until you can invest in advanced tools like CLM systems, or tools specifically designed for legal use cases (that involve some time investment as you search the market and select the right one).
So, how can you start automating to enhance your efficiency?
